Tamizhagam is the palatial Guest House of Government of Tamil Nadu nestled in the greenery of Ooty, in a sprawling 36 acres. Once known as the Arranmore Palace of his highness Maharaja of Jodhpur, it was purchased by Government of Tamil Nadu in 1958.
The Palace, built in 1925 is located near Ooty Lake was also a temporary seat of power before turning into Guest House. The rosewood panelledgrand ball room served as the State Assembly from April 20 to April 30, 1959, thus entering into the annals of the Legislative Assembly history.
