In April 1959, the Tamil Nadu Assembly met at Arranmore Palace (now Thamizhagam Guest House) Ooty between April 20 to April 30, 1959. The ball room of the erstwhile Jodhpur Palace was improvised as the assembly chamber and seating provided to about 180 members of the Assembly, thus holding a historic place in the Tamil Nadu History.
